  1. RocketFan says:

Wow.. there have been some really inappropriate comments in the chat on this one…

    • Yup, that will happen from time to time. New Media baby!

      • RocketFan says:

What do you mean with “New Media”?
Was that just to point out, that you have just uploaded more videos or was that to say that a vidcast with chat is a new type of media? (sorry if this should be obvious, but I’m not a native English speaker ;) )

In case of the latter: I would agree that people have to adjust themselves to anything new, but I don’t really see the connection between this and rude behavior in any form.

I don’t have a problem with silly jokes and fooling around, but especially after your “I have destroyed her” comment there have been some really dull responses. I just fear that other people who would like to know more about space travel and exploration could be offended by such “jokes”.

But maybe I’m just too paranoid ;)
        Best regards,
        Marcus

        • NewMedia meaning social media. Things like Twitter, Facebook or anything that a community is built around. In New Media everyone has a voice, even if you don’t agree or if you don’t want them to. It is open to all and at times it can get messy. It is both powerful and troublesome.

Part of the power of Spacevidcast is the ability to speak your mind, ask your question and be involved in every aspect of every show all the time, and that includes the chat room burned on the video. For better or for worse, it is what allows us to see what everyone is thinking, not just the speaker or the space nuts. EVERYONE.
