Constellation Panel at ISDC 2009

This is panel on NASA’s Constellation project at ISDC 2009

  1. Paul Fjeld says:

Why are the comments superimposed on the video? Why do I have to get past all the juvenile commentary to listen to professionals at the sharp point of our technical ability who are sharing this new adventure?

  2. The comments in the video would be the real-time chat that was happening as people were watching the speech. Juvenile or not, those comments represent what the masses think about said program. If they seem off, then that means there’s a marketing / promotion / education problem at NASA.

DVDs of nearly every session at ISDC are available for $10.00 on the show floor which do not have the comment burn in the video. I think you can still get them even after the show.

This is web 2.0! Like it or hate it, everyone has a voice.

  3. Phis says:

There should be a timeout on how long the chat is displayed. Sometimes someone says something so inane or inappropriate, it’s hard to believe, and then everyone has to look at that comment for minutes on end. Would it not be better if the chat box quietly went away after, say, 30 sec. of inactivity?
