Issues on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter – 09.11.09
This video was created by Benjamin Higginbotham on November 9, 2009
The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter or MRO seems to be having a few issues. The $720 million dollar mission is on hold while scientists try and determine why the system keeps rebooting. In fact the MRO has had 4 computer resets this year before NASA scientists put the spacecraft in to safe mode. While in safe mode the spacecraft has its solar arrays tracking the sun and communications antennae pointed at Earth to allow additional communications and software uplinks.

I like.
Hehe, well I like the humor there (and I really laughed about the “mars edition”
) but I think it was a little bit too much for a single video. When I start looking at the clock, thinking “man, how much longer will this go on”, that's not exactly what should happen while watching a SVC daily.
I'm orbiting ur planet, spying on ur surface features. – MRO
HA! That would have been another great approach to this one. Ahhh the fun we can have…
I agree MarcusZ. It was a bit much. Never thought I'd see that startup screen ever again.
I would argue… It was *perfect*. Got the point across, grabbed your attention and showed exactly how big of a nasty bug this is all while being entertaining. Perfect!
LOL @Bencredible for the MRO Daily. I hope that the MRO really isn't running Windows….might cause issues.
