first
Your intro is awesome!
it’s so stupid that youtube needs sooo loooooonng to give us the HD version…
Spacevidcast epic subscribers get it right away via the Spacevidcast web site. Else you can also try downloading it on iTunes, which will usually come before YouTube HD as well.
Andy Cochrane – Very inspiring and accurate description … NASA should have a heads up across the board and show this video to every employee.
Can we watch Andy’s entire night talk online?
I wouldn’t be surprised if one of his descendants turns out to be Zefram Cochrane.
doesnt the way space is marketed today have something to do with news papers and news channels, they want lots of viewers and if an accident happens they sell lots of papers and get lots of viewers, look at ‘nasa bombing the moon’ they treat their viewship like idiots that only like the bad, and because papers get bought and people watch the TV about that , then it seems its true.
Thanks Andy for making good point about NASA TV is boring to watch. spacevidcast should have spot on NASA TV with chat.
Absolutely! DisneyMuppet model for NASA Ed and EngineerToolHead model for NASATV is so last century and underwhelming completely missing the multivariate channels, tools, routes and understanding of the current media mind zeitgeist of the audience interested in Space.
great show
I think I’d have a lot more respect for the argument if it just wasn’t solely based on NASA TV. I will give you that is not the best, but what do you get for $1.5 million a year and 18 people?
Get away from the TV and watch the live ISS feeds and the astronauts’ twitter accounts. It’s much better and improves on what you complain about.
Any chance that you guys can get a compressor, or if you have one, can you learn how to use it?
The Audio is ranging from quiet to distorted & a compressor at a 4:1 compression ratio, with the threshold at -18dB. It should do wonders!
We sure can. Sign up to epic to help pay for new gear. We have new audio gear, new lights, new cameras and new encoding gear all on the list.

@sandread I would say a lot. We create Spacevidcast on nearly nothing a year and pretty much 3 part time people. YOu can run a small cable company on less than that.
I agree that the live feeds are stunning.
Thanks for listening to my suggestion ! Your presentation seems to be more ballanced now . Love It !! . You’re getting closer ! There are certain things you can’t laugh about although there are certain things you can’t take to seriously without creating panic.
I love the appeal to the kids so stay fun in that aspect. But keep the really experienced old school space freaks interested also !

Ok ! I’m 15 minutes in and I have an annoying voice making comedy out of humanities future.

Ok Don’t over do it ! Just a nice ballance.

Boring is relative ! There are some people out there concerned with the technical !!
I have an Idea to make it exciting but remember the professional side. You might see me as a co- host soon !
I agree ! This guy rocks !! He is reading my mind !
NASA is “boring” because they rely on “science-speak” where accuracy is traded for drama. I highly recommend the book “Don’t Be Such a Scientist,” by Randy Olson who got his Ph.D. in Marine Biology at Harvard but gave up his science career to become a Hollywood producer. He made “An Inconvenient Truth” which put global warming in the public consciousness.
THIS PROGRAM SUX !!!
