    Such a cool idea. Hopefully it will come to pass. And if it does, it might me replicated on Mars giving us unprecedented access to the Mars surface.

    ok i dont see this happening, so its an orbital platform traveling at over 17,500mph “orbit ish speed” and nasa wants to hang elevator cables into the atmosphere to lift cargo into space….

    firstly how are you gonna get cargo on the 17,500mph elevator from the ground

    then how are you gonna keep the platform in orbit while these cables are being slowed down by air resistance…

    im proberbly getting the wrong idea haha, please explain and end my extreme confusion.
